Silver Shot or Silver Grain are silver granules or globules that are typically ¼ inches in diameter. These silver granules were created on purpose during the sterling silver casting process by immersing molten silver in cold water. This action causes silver to break up into small silver globules, which “condense” and solidify out of the water. Although some manufacturers use sophisticated techniques to obtain uniformly sized globules, the end result is usually the same.

Authenticity and purity of silver in various weights will be declared on each bag’s label, with the premium for silver bullion bars being much higher.
